When you speak during gameplay, your voice is transcribed on your device using Apple's speech recognition. Only the text transcript is sent to our servers—audio recordings never leave your device and are not stored.

Transcribed text is used to:

• Recognize your answers to trivia questions
• Generate trivia rounds based on topics you request

Gameplay and Purchase Data

We store the following information linked to your account:

• Credit Balance: Your current credit balance and transaction history
• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active monthly pass
• Purchase History: Records of in-app purchases for customer support

AI-Generated Content

CarTrivia uses OpenAI's services to generate trivia questions and provide voice narration. Your topic selections are sent to OpenAI to generate relevant content. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely on servers hosted in the United States using industry-standard encryption. Voice audio is processed in real-time and is not retained after transcription. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or business purposes (such as purchase records for tax compliance).

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Apple: Sign in with Apple for authentication, and App Store for in-app purchases
• OpenAI: Speech recognition, text-to-speech, and trivia content generation
• Serper: Web search and webpage retrieval to gather information for trivia questions. Requests to Serper do not programmatically include personal user information; however, if you select a trivia topic containing specific names or places, that topic text may be included in search queries.

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to your personal data
• Request correction of credit balance if credits were incorrectly deducted due to a technical error
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
